Cabin 1073 · Carnival Sunrise

Cabin 1073 is a Cloud 9 Spa Balcony (category 8P1) on Carnival Sunrise, 185 to 205 square feet plus a private balcony of 35 to 44 square feet.

Cabin 1073 is a Cloud 9 Spa Balcony on Deck 10, the Panorama deck, of Carnival Sunrise. You are forward of midship. You are at the top of the passenger decks, so the pools and the open air are just up the stairs, and you feel the ship move more than anyone below you. There is some movement here, more than midship and a good deal less than the ends. Most people never think about it. We score it 6 out of 10 for steadiness.

The lift bank sits two decks up, roughly 5 cabins along the ship from you. You will still walk to the stairs or the lift to reach it, so treat it as a landmark rather than a neighbour. We give it 10 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about it is 3 out of 10, so add a few minutes to everywhere you go.

Of the 25 cabin positions on Deck 10, this is the 25th from forward. That puts you right at the aft end of the run, where the corridor stops and the footfall dies away.

The Cloud 9 Spa Balcony grade runs 185-205 square feet. The balcony adds another 35-44 on top of that. A balcony buys you outside space of your own and, on sea days, somewhere to sit that is not the pool deck. It is the step up most people make, and the one they find hardest to give up again.

Against the rest of the ship it is as quiet as anything on board. It suits light sleepers. It is a poor fit for anyone who finds long corridors and stairs hard work.

Scored by Cruise Ship Wiki using model v1.8, from the position of this cabin relative to every public space on the ship. Each part is out of 10.
