Cabin 12172 · MSC World America

Cabin 12172 is a Premium Suite Aurea on Deck 12 of MSC World America. You are aft of midship. You are far enough from the middle to notice a swell, but nowhere near the worst of it. We score it 8 out of 10 for steadiness.

You are practically next door to the midship lift bank, 0 cabins along. Nothing on board is a shorter walk. The price is footsteps past your door and the lift chiming at odd hours. Quiet comes out at 8 out of 10, roughly par for this ship. For getting about, 8 out of 10.

Of the 148 cabin positions on Deck 12, this is the 92nd from forward.

The Premium Suite Aurea grade runs 269-355 square feet. The balcony adds another 32-151 on top of that. At suite level you are buying more than square feet. Suites almost always carry priority boarding and priority disembarkation, and the higher grades on most lines add a restaurant, a lounge or a sun deck of their own. Junior and entry level suites often get none of that, so it is worth checking what this particular grade includes rather than assuming the whole list comes with the word.

Against the rest of the ship it is steadier in a swell than 86 per cent of them and better placed for getting around than 95 per cent of them. It suits light sleepers, travellers prone to seasickness and families running back to the cabin several times a day.
