Cabin 1218 · Carnival Spirit

Cabin 1218 is an Ocean View (category 6A1) on Carnival Spirit, 158 to 243 square feet.

Cabin 1218 is an Ocean View on Deck 1, the Riviera deck, of Carnival Spirit, and it sits midship. You are near the bottom of the passenger decks, which is the steadiest place to be, though it is a fair climb to the open air. You are near the middle of the hull, where the ship does the least moving. In rough water that matters more than most people expect. We score it 9 out of 10 for steadiness, which puts it among the calmest rooms on the ship.

Redfrog sits on the deck above, roughly 6 cabins along the ship from you. A deck between you takes most of the noise out of it, and it is a short trip when you want it. We give it 10 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about it is 4 out of 10, so add a few minutes to everywhere you go.

Of the 63 cabin positions on Deck 1, this is the 38th from forward. You are about as central as the corridor gets, so it is a similar walk whichever way you turn out of your door.

The Ocean View grade runs 158-243 square feet. You get daylight and a sense of where you are without paying balcony money. The window does not open, so it is the view but not the air.

Against the rest of the ship it is as quiet as anything on board and as steady in a swell as any cabin on the ship. It suits light sleepers and travellers prone to seasickness. It is a poor fit for anyone who finds long corridors and stairs hard work.
