Cabin 12223 · Carnival Dream

Cabin 12223 is a Cloud 9 Spa Balcony (category 8S1) on Carnival Dream, 185 to 205 square feet plus a private balcony of 35 to 44 square feet.

Cabin 12223 is a Cloud 9 Spa Balcony on Deck 12, the Spa deck, of Carnival Dream, forward of midship. You are at the top of the passenger decks, so the pools and the open air are just up the stairs, and you feel the ship move more than anyone below you. You are far enough from the middle to notice a swell, but nowhere near the worst of it. We score it 6 out of 10 for steadiness.

On the ship's plan Fitness Studio is two decks up, about 19 cabins along from you. A deck between you takes most of the noise out of it, and it is a short trip when you want it. We give it 10 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about it is 1 out of 10, so add a few minutes to everywhere you go.

Counting from the bow, it is the 16th cabin position of 18 along Deck 12. That puts you right at the aft end of the run, where the corridor stops and the footfall dies away.

A Cloud 9 Spa Balcony gives you 185-205 square feet. The balcony adds another 35-44 on top of that. A balcony buys you outside space of your own and, on sea days, somewhere to sit that is not the pool deck. It is the step up most people make, and the one they find hardest to give up again.

Against the rest of the ship it is as quiet as anything on board and further from the action than most. It suits light sleepers. It is a poor fit for anyone who finds long corridors and stairs hard work.
