Cabin 12642 is a Grand Suite - 1 Bedroom on Ovation of the Seas. There is a double sofa bed.

Cabin 12642 is a Grand Suite - 1 Bedroom on Deck 12 of Ovation of the Seas. You are aft of midship. There is some movement here, more than midship and a good deal less than the ends. Most people never think about it. We score it 8 out of 10 for steadiness.

You are all but on top of the aft lift bank, starboard, about 1 cabin away. Nothing on board is a shorter walk. The price is footsteps past your door and the lift chiming at odd hours. Quantum runs four lift banks on most decks, a port and starboard pair forward and another pair aft, with two on deck 16. Conventional lifts with call buttons in the lobby and deck buttons in the car. Worth knowing: the cars are quiet, the lobby is not. A cabin beside one hears doors, waiting conversation and footfall in the corridor, heaviest when a show lets out and after the late dinner seating. Quiet comes out at 6 out of 10, roughly par for this ship. For getting about it scores 9 out of 10, so almost everything is a short walk.

Counting from the bow, it is the 71st cabin position of 138 along Deck 12. You are about as central as the corridor gets, so it is a similar walk whichever way you turn out of your door. Deck 12 also has Adventure Ocean on it. There are 237 cabins along this deck, so the corridor is a fairly ordinary length.

It is booked as a Grand Suite - 1 Bedroom. At suite level you are buying more than square feet. Suites almost always carry priority boarding and priority disembarkation, and the higher grades on most lines add a restaurant, a lounge or a sun deck of their own. Junior and entry level suites often get none of that, so it is worth checking what this particular grade includes rather than assuming the whole list comes with the word.

Grade changes what you earn here, which is easy to miss. Crown and Anchor pays one cruise point a night in a standard room and two a night in a suite, so a seven night sailing out of this cabin banks fourteen points rather than seven. Sail it on your own on a double occupancy fare and it is three a night, twenty one for the week. Checked against the line's own published terms on 8 September 2026.

Against the rest of the ship it is steadier in a swell than 85 per cent of them and as well placed for getting around as any cabin aboard. It suits travellers prone to seasickness and families running back to the cabin several times a day. It is a poor fit for anyone who wakes when a door closes.

Scored by Cruise Ship Wiki using model v1.8, from the position of this cabin relative to every public space on the ship. Each part is out of 10.
