Cabin 13638 · Quantum of the Seas
Deck 13 · Royal Caribbean International
Cabin 13638 is an Ocean View Balcony on Quantum of the Seas, 182 to 198 square feet plus a private balcony of 42 to 55 square feet.
Cabin 13638 is an Ocean View Balcony on Deck 13 of Quantum of the Seas, and it sits aft of midship. You are at the top of the passenger decks, so the pools and the open air are just up the stairs, and you feel the ship move more than anyone below you. You are far enough from the middle to notice a swell, but nowhere near the worst of it. We score it 7 out of 10 for steadiness.
You are 3 cabins from the aft lift bank, starboard. Close enough to be useful, far enough that it should not keep you awake. Quantum runs four lift banks on most decks, a port and starboard pair forward and another pair aft, with two on deck 16. Conventional lifts with call buttons in the lobby and deck buttons in the car. Worth knowing: the cars are quiet, the lobby is not. A cabin beside one hears doors, waiting conversation and footfall in the corridor, heaviest when a show lets out and after the late dinner seating. Quiet scores 5 out of 10. There is enough going on nearby that a light sleeper should think about it. For getting about it scores 9 out of 10, so almost everything is a short walk.
Of the 133 cabin positions on Deck 13, this is the 77th from forward. You are about as central as the corridor gets, so it is a similar walk whichever way you turn out of your door. You share Deck 13 with Solarium and Conference Center. There are 219 cabins along this deck, so the corridor is a fairly ordinary length.
The Ocean View Balcony grade runs 182-198 square feet. The balcony adds another 42-55 on top of that. A balcony buys you outside space of your own and, on sea days, somewhere to sit that is not the pool deck. It is the step up most people make, and the one they find hardest to give up again.
Worth knowing before you book: Crown and Anchor pays one cruise point a night at this grade. A suite pays two, and so does sailing solo on a double occupancy fare, which is the cheaper of the two routes if you are travelling alone anyway. Checked against the line's own published terms on 8 September 2026.
Against the rest of the ship it is noisier than three quarters of the 2,099 cabins on board and as well placed for getting around as any cabin aboard. It suits families running back to the cabin several times a day. It is a poor fit for anyone who wakes when a door closes.
Scored by Cruise Ship Wiki using model v1.8, from the position of this cabin relative to every public space on the ship. Each part is out of 10.
