Cabin 16251 · Mardi Gras

Cabin 16251 is a Balcony (category 8G1) on Mardi Gras, 168 to 205 square feet plus a private balcony of 35 to 46 square feet.

Cabin 16251 is a Balcony on Deck 16 of Mardi Gras, and it sits far forward. You are at the top of the passenger decks, so the pools and the open air are just up the stairs, and you feel the ship move more than anyone below you. This is a long way from the pivot, so a swell reaches you before it reaches anyone midship. We score it 5 out of 10 for steadiness.

On the ship's plan Serenity is two decks up, about 26 cabins along from you. A deck between you takes most of the noise out of it, and it is a short trip when you want it. We give it 10 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about it is 1 out of 10, so add a few minutes to everywhere you go.

Counting from the bow, it is the 26th cabin position of 63 along Deck 16. You are about as central as the corridor gets, so it is a similar walk whichever way you turn out of your door.

A Balcony gives you 168-205 square feet. The balcony adds another 35-46 on top of that. A balcony buys you outside space of your own and, on sea days, somewhere to sit that is not the pool deck. It is the step up most people make, and the one they find hardest to give up again.

Against the rest of the ship it is as quiet as anything on board and further from the action than most. It suits light sleepers. It is a poor fit for anyone who finds long corridors and stairs hard work.
