Cabin 17206 · Mardi Gras

Cabin 17206 is a Cloud 9 Spa Forward-View Extended Balcony (category 8V1) on Mardi Gras, 205 square feet plus a private balcony of 44 to 75 square feet.

Cabin 17206 is a Cloud 9 Spa Forward-View Extended Balcony on Deck 17 of Mardi Gras, far forward. You are at the top of the passenger decks, so the pools and the open air are just up the stairs, and you feel the ship move more than anyone below you. This is a long way from the pivot, so a swell reaches you before it reaches anyone midship. Right up in the bow, a head sea can send a shudder through the hull that midship guests never feel at all. We score it 4 out of 10 for steadiness.

On the ship's plan Serenity is on the deck above, about 51 cabins along from you. A deck between you takes most of the noise out of it, and it is a short trip when you want it. We give it 10 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about it is 1 out of 10, so add a few minutes to everywhere you go.

Counting from the bow, it is the 4th cabin position of 60 along Deck 17.

A Cloud 9 Spa Forward-View Extended Balcony gives you 205 square feet. The balcony adds another 44-75 on top of that. A balcony buys you outside space of your own and, on sea days, somewhere to sit that is not the pool deck. It is the step up most people make, and the one they find hardest to give up again.

Against the rest of the ship it is as quiet as anything on board, livelier in a swell than most of them and further from the action than most. It suits light sleepers. It is a poor fit for anyone who feels motion badly and anyone who finds long corridors and stairs hard work.

Scored by Cruise Ship Wiki using model v1.8, from the position of this cabin relative to every public space on the ship. Each part is out of 10.
