Cabin 2481 · Carnival Freedom

Cabin 2481 is an Ocean View (category 6B) on Carnival Freedom.

Cabin 2481 is an Ocean View on Deck 2, the Main deck, of Carnival Freedom. You are well aft. You are near the bottom of the passenger decks, which is the steadiest place to be, though it is a fair climb to the open air. Out at this end you feel the sea. In rough water the movement here is noticeably stronger. This far aft you may also pick up a hum from the propellers, usually at night when the ship is making speed between ports. Some people never notice it, others find it soothing, a few cannot ignore it. We score it 2 out of 10 for steadiness. If you are at all prone to seasickness, look elsewhere.

On the ship's plan a stairwell is on the deck above, about 10 cabins along from you. You will still walk to the stairs or the lift to reach it, so treat it as a landmark rather than a neighbour. We give it 9 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about it is 4 out of 10, so add a few minutes to everywhere you go.

Counting from the bow, it is the 152nd cabin position of 153 along Deck 2. That puts you right at the aft end of the run, where the corridor stops and the footfall dies away.

It is booked as an Ocean View. You get daylight and a sense of where you are without paying balcony money. The window does not open, so it is the view but not the air.

Against the rest of the ship it is livelier in a swell than most of them. It suits light sleepers. It is a poor fit for anyone who feels motion badly and anyone who finds long corridors and stairs hard work.
