Cabin 5189 · Carnival Spirit

Cabin 5189 is a Balcony (Obstructed View) (category 7A1) on Carnival Spirit, 168 to 205 square feet plus a private balcony of 35 to 46 square feet.

Cabin 5189 is a Balcony (Obstructed View) on Deck 5, the Upper deck, of Carnival Spirit, and it sits midship. That is about as close to the ship's pivot point as you can get, and in a swell you will feel it less here than anywhere else on board. We score it 9 out of 10 for steadiness, which puts it among the calmest rooms on the ship.

On the ship's plan the lift bank is two decks down, about 2 cabins along from you. You will still walk to the stairs or the lift to reach it, so treat it as a landmark rather than a neighbour. We give it 10 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about it is 4 out of 10, so add a few minutes to everywhere you go.

Counting from the bow, it is the 44th cabin position of 86 along Deck 5. You are about as central as the corridor gets, so it is a similar walk whichever way you turn out of your door.

A Balcony (Obstructed View) gives you 168-205 square feet. The balcony adds another 35-46 on top of that. A balcony buys you outside space of your own and, on sea days, somewhere to sit that is not the pool deck. It is the step up most people make, and the one they find hardest to give up again.

Against the rest of the ship it is as quiet as anything on board and as steady in a swell as any cabin on the ship. It suits light sleepers and travellers prone to seasickness. It is a poor fit for anyone who finds long corridors and stairs hard work.
