Cabin 7640 is a Junior Suite on Deck 7 of Quantum of the Seas. You are aft of midship. There is some movement here, more than midship and a good deal less than the ends. Most people never think about it. We score it 8 out of 10 for steadiness.
You are all but on top of the aft lift bank, starboard, about 2 cabins away. Nothing on board is a shorter walk. The price is footsteps past your door and the lift chiming at odd hours. Quantum runs four lift banks on most decks, a port and starboard pair forward and another pair aft, with two on deck 16. Conventional lifts with call buttons in the lobby and deck buttons in the car. Worth knowing: the cars are quiet, the lobby is not. A cabin beside one hears doors, waiting conversation and footfall in the corridor, heaviest when a show lets out and after the late dinner seating. Quiet comes out at 7 out of 10, roughly par for this ship. For getting about it scores 9 out of 10, so almost everything is a short walk.
Counting from the bow, it is the 86th cabin position of 131 along Deck 7.
A Junior Suite gives you 243 square feet. The balcony adds another 74 on top of that. At suite level you are buying more than square feet. Suites almost always carry priority boarding and priority disembarkation, and the higher grades on most lines add a restaurant, a lounge or a sun deck of their own. Junior and entry level suites often get none of that, so it is worth checking what this particular grade includes rather than assuming the whole list comes with the word.
There is a loyalty argument for this room as well as a comfort one. Crown and Anchor counts a suite night as two cruise points against one for a standard room, so the same week aboard moves you up the tiers twice as fast. Book it solo at the double occupancy fare and it counts three a night. Checked against the line's own published terms on 8 September 2026.
Against the rest of the ship it is steadier in a swell than 88 per cent of them and as well placed for getting around as any cabin aboard. It suits travellers prone to seasickness and families running back to the cabin several times a day. It is a poor fit for anyone who wakes when a door closes.
