Cabin 8217 · Carnival Luminosa

Cabin 8217 is a Balcony on Carnival Luminosa, 185 to 237 square feet.

Cabin 8217 is a Balcony on Deck 8 of Carnival Luminosa, and it sits far forward. You are at the top of the passenger decks, so the pools and the open air are just up the stairs, and you feel the ship move more than anyone below you. This is a long way from the pivot, so a swell reaches you before it reaches anyone midship. Right up in the bow, a head sea can send a shudder through the hull that midship guests never feel at all. We score it 4 out of 10 for steadiness.

You are 5 cabins from a stairwell. Close enough to be useful, far enough that it should not keep you awake. We give it 10 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about, 7 out of 10.

Of the 161 cabin positions on Deck 8, this is the 13th from forward. You share Deck 8 with Pool. There are 187 cabins along this deck, so the corridor is a fairly ordinary length.

The Balcony grade runs 185-237 square feet. A balcony buys you outside space of your own and, on sea days, somewhere to sit that is not the pool deck. It is the step up most people make, and the one they find hardest to give up again.

Against the rest of the ship it is as quiet as anything on board, livelier in a swell than most of them and better placed for getting around than 83 per cent of them. It suits light sleepers. It is a poor fit for anyone who feels motion badly.

Scored by Cruise Ship Wiki using model v1.8, from the position of this cabin relative to every public space on the ship. Each part is out of 10.
