Cabin 8315 · Carnival Luminosa

Cabin 8315 is a Balcony on Carnival Luminosa, 185 to 237 square feet.

Cabin 8315 is a Balcony on Deck 8 of Carnival Luminosa, midship. You are at the top of the passenger decks, so the pools and the open air are just up the stairs, and you feel the ship move more than anyone below you. That is about as close to the ship's pivot point as you can get, and in a swell you will feel it less here than anywhere else on board. We score it 8 out of 10 for steadiness.

You are practically next door to the lift bank, 1 cabin along. Nothing on board is a shorter walk. The price is footsteps past your door and the lift chiming at odd hours. Quiet comes out at 6 out of 10, roughly par for this ship. For getting about it scores 9 out of 10, so almost everything is a short walk.

Of the 161 cabin positions on Deck 8, this is the 88th from forward. You are about as central as the corridor gets, so it is a similar walk whichever way you turn out of your door. You share Deck 8 with Pool. There are 187 cabins along this deck, so the corridor is a fairly ordinary length.

The Balcony grade runs 185-237 square feet. A balcony buys you outside space of your own and, on sea days, somewhere to sit that is not the pool deck. It is the step up most people make, and the one they find hardest to give up again.

Against the rest of the ship it is noisier than three quarters of the 1,101 cabins on board, steadier in a swell than 89 per cent of them and as well placed for getting around as any cabin aboard. It suits travellers prone to seasickness and families running back to the cabin several times a day. It is a poor fit for anyone who wakes when a door closes.

Scored by Cruise Ship Wiki using model v1.8, from the position of this cabin relative to every public space on the ship. Each part is out of 10.
