Cabin 8401 · Carnival Dream

Cabin 8401 is a Balcony (category 8D1) on Carnival Dream, 168 to 205 square feet plus a private balcony of 35 to 46 square feet.

Cabin 8401 is a Balcony on Deck 8, the Verandah deck, of Carnival Dream, aft of midship. You are far enough from the middle to notice a swell, but nowhere near the worst of it. We score it 7 out of 10 for steadiness.

We give it 9 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about it is 4 out of 10, so add a few minutes to everywhere you go.

Of the 184 cabin positions on Deck 8, this is the 132nd from forward.

The Balcony grade runs 168-205 square feet. The balcony adds another 35-46 on top of that. A balcony buys you outside space of your own and, on sea days, somewhere to sit that is not the pool deck. It is the step up most people make, and the one they find hardest to give up again.

Against the rest of the ship it is better placed for getting around than 79 per cent of them. It suits light sleepers. It is a poor fit for anyone who finds long corridors and stairs hard work.
