Cabin 8402 · Icon of the Seas

Cabin 8402 is an Interior Plus on Icon of the Seas, 162 to 172 square feet.

Cabin 8402 is an Interior Plus on Deck 8 of Icon of the Seas. You are far forward. You are well out towards the end of the hull, which is where pitching is felt hardest. Right up in the bow, a head sea can send a shudder through the hull that midship guests never feel at all. We score it 6 out of 10 for steadiness.

The nearest is Empire Supper Club, and that is 17 cabins away down the corridor. Quiet, at the cost of a few minutes each way. A ticketed dinner show forward on deck 8, a fixed multi course menu with live music through the evening. Charged separately and limited to a small room. Worth knowing: behaves more like a small theatre than a restaurant. It is one sitting a night, booked in advance, and it runs late. Quiet comes out at 8 out of 10, roughly par for this ship. For getting about, 5 out of 10.

Of the 290 cabin positions on Deck 8, this is the 33rd from forward. You share Deck 8 with Empire Supper Club, Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, Chops Grille and Trellis Bar. There are 315 cabins along this deck, so the corridor is a long walk end to end.

The Interior Plus grade runs 162-172 square feet. No window, which makes it the darkest and cheapest room on board and, for a lot of people, the best sleep they get all week. If waking to daylight matters to you, an ocean view is the smallest step up.

Worth knowing before you book: Crown and Anchor pays one cruise point a night at this grade. A suite pays two, and so does sailing solo on a double occupancy fare, which is the cheaper of the two routes if you are travelling alone anyway. Checked against the line's own published terms on 8 September 2026.

Against the rest of the ship it is quieter than 76 per cent of the 2,814 cabins on board. It suits light sleepers.
