Cabin 8485 is an Interior (category 3V/4V) on Freedom of the Seas, 162 square feet, with no window. It sleeps up to 2.

Cabin 8485 is an Interior on Deck 8 of Freedom of the Seas, well aft. You are well out towards the end of the hull, which is where pitching is felt hardest. This far aft you may also pick up a hum from the propellers, usually at night when the ship is making speed between ports. Some people never notice it, others find it soothing, a few cannot ignore it. We score it 4 out of 10 for steadiness.

Nothing sits close by: it is 25 cabins to the aft lift bank, port, the nearest thing of its kind. That buys you quiet. It also means a proper walk with your bags on embarkation day. Freedom carries four lift banks on most decks, a port and starboard pair forward and another pair aft, so you are rarely more than half a corridor from one. These are conventional lifts with call buttons in the lobby and deck buttons inside the car. Worth knowing: the cars are quiet. The lobby is not. What a cabin beside one hears is doors, waiting conversation and footfall in the corridor, heaviest when a show lets out and after the late dinner seating. Quiet comes out at 8 out of 10, roughly par for this ship. For getting about, 7 out of 10.

Counting from the bow, it is the 165th cabin position of 180 along Deck 8.

An Interior gives you 162 square feet. No window, which makes it the darkest and cheapest room on board and, for a lot of people, the best sleep they get all week. If waking to daylight matters to you, an ocean view is the smallest step up.

Worth knowing before you book: Crown and Anchor pays one cruise point a night at this grade. A suite pays two, and so does sailing solo on a double occupancy fare, which is the cheaper of the two routes if you are travelling alone anyway. Checked against the line's own published terms on 8 September 2026.

Against the rest of the ship it is quieter than 97 per cent of the 1,963 cabins on board and livelier in a swell than most of them. It suits light sleepers. It is a poor fit for anyone who feels motion badly.

Scored by Cruise Ship Wiki using model v1.8, from the position of this cabin relative to every public space on the ship. Each part is out of 10.
