Cabin 8500 is a Spacious Ocean View on Anthem of the Seas, 220 to 271 square feet.

Cabin 8500 is a Spacious Ocean View on Deck 8 of Anthem of the Seas, far forward. This is a long way from the pivot, so a swell reaches you before it reaches anyone midship. Right up in the bow, a head sea can send a shudder through the hull that midship guests never feel at all. We score it 4 out of 10 for steadiness.

Nothing sits close by: it is 35 cabins to the forward lift bank, starboard, the nearest thing of its kind. That buys you quiet. It also means a proper walk with your bags on embarkation day. Anthem runs four lift banks on most decks, a port and starboard pair forward and another pair aft, with two on deck 16. Conventional lifts with call buttons in the lobby and deck buttons in the car. Worth knowing: the cars are quiet, the lobby is not. A cabin beside one hears doors, waiting conversation and footfall in the corridor, heaviest when a show lets out and after the late dinner seating. We give it 9 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about it is 3 out of 10, so add a few minutes to everywhere you go.

Counting from the bow, it is the 1st cabin position of 159 along Deck 8. That puts you right at the forward end of the run, where the corridor stops and the footfall dies away.

A Spacious Ocean View gives you 220-271 square feet. You get daylight and a sense of where you are without paying balcony money. The window does not open, so it is the view but not the air.

Worth knowing before you book: Crown and Anchor pays one cruise point a night at this grade. A suite pays two, and so does sailing solo on a double occupancy fare, which is the cheaper of the two routes if you are travelling alone anyway. Checked against the line's own published terms on 8 September 2026.

Against the rest of the ship it is as quiet as anything on board, livelier in a swell than most of them and further from the action than most. It suits light sleepers. It is a poor fit for anyone who feels motion badly and anyone who finds long corridors and stairs hard work.

Scored by Cruise Ship Wiki using model v1.8, from the position of this cabin relative to every public space on the ship. Each part is out of 10.
