Cabin 9240 is a Junior Suite on Spectrum of the Seas, 250 to 287 square feet plus a private balcony of 65 to 161 square feet. There is a double sofa bed.

Cabin 9240 is a Junior Suite on Deck 9 of Spectrum of the Seas, and it sits aft of midship. You will feel a bit more motion than a midship cabin. Nothing dramatic. We score it 8 out of 10 for steadiness.

You are practically next door to the aft lift bank, port, 2 cabins along. Nothing on board is a shorter walk. The price is footsteps past your door and the lift chiming at odd hours. Spectrum runs four lift banks on most decks, a port and starboard pair forward and another pair aft. Conventional lifts with call buttons in the lobby and deck buttons in the car. The suite enclave on decks 13 to 16 also has its own private lift. Worth knowing: the cars are quiet, the lobby is not. A cabin beside one hears doors, waiting conversation and footfall in the corridor, heaviest when a show lets out and after the late dinner seating. Quiet comes out at 7 out of 10, roughly par for this ship. For getting about it scores 9 out of 10, so almost everything is a short walk.

Of the 184 cabin positions on Deck 9, this is the 110th from forward. You are about as central as the corridor gets, so it is a similar walk whichever way you turn out of your door.

The Junior Suite grade runs 250-287 square feet. The balcony adds another 65-161 on top of that. At suite level you are buying more than square feet. Suites almost always carry priority boarding and priority disembarkation, and the higher grades on most lines add a restaurant, a lounge or a sun deck of their own. Junior and entry level suites often get none of that, so it is worth checking what this particular grade includes rather than assuming the whole list comes with the word.

There is a loyalty argument for this room as well as a comfort one. Crown and Anchor counts a suite night as two cruise points against one for a standard room, so the same week aboard moves you up the tiers twice as fast. Book it solo at the double occupancy fare and it counts three a night. Checked against the line's own published terms on 8 September 2026.

Against the rest of the ship it is steadier in a swell than 85 per cent of them and as well placed for getting around as any cabin aboard. It suits travellers prone to seasickness and families running back to the cabin several times a day. It is a poor fit for anyone who wakes when a door closes.
