Cabin 9692 is an Ocean View with Large Balcony (category B) on Spectrum of the Seas, 195 square feet plus a private balcony of 39 square feet.

Cabin 9692 is an Ocean View with Large Balcony on Deck 9 of Spectrum of the Seas. You are well aft. This is a long way from the pivot, so a swell reaches you before it reaches anyone midship. This far aft you may also pick up a hum from the propellers, usually at night when the ship is making speed between ports. Some people never notice it, others find it soothing, a few cannot ignore it. We score it 6 out of 10 for steadiness.

Nothing sits close by: it is 25 cabins to the aft lift bank, starboard, the nearest thing of its kind. That buys you quiet. It also means a proper walk with your bags on embarkation day. Spectrum runs four lift banks on most decks, a port and starboard pair forward and another pair aft. Conventional lifts with call buttons in the lobby and deck buttons in the car. The suite enclave on decks 13 to 16 also has its own private lift. Worth knowing: the cars are quiet, the lobby is not. A cabin beside one hears doors, waiting conversation and footfall in the corridor, heaviest when a show lets out and after the late dinner seating. We give it 9 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about it is 4 out of 10, so add a few minutes to everywhere you go.

Counting from the bow, it is the 156th cabin position of 184 along Deck 9.

An Ocean View with Large Balcony gives you 195 square feet. The balcony adds another 39 on top of that. A balcony buys you outside space of your own and, on sea days, somewhere to sit that is not the pool deck. It is the step up most people make, and the one they find hardest to give up again.

Worth knowing before you book: Crown and Anchor pays one cruise point a night at this grade. A suite pays two, and so does sailing solo on a double occupancy fare, which is the cheaper of the two routes if you are travelling alone anyway. Checked against the line's own published terms on 8 September 2026.

Against the rest of the ship it is as quiet as anything on board and further from the action than most. It suits light sleepers. It is a poor fit for anyone who finds long corridors and stairs hard work.

Scored by Cruise Ship Wiki using model v1.8, from the position of this cabin relative to every public space on the ship. Each part is out of 10.
