MSC World Europa is a cruise ship operated by MSC Cruises and the lead vessel of the World class, the largest ships yet built for the company. Delivered in October 2022 by Chantiers de l'Atlantique at Saint-Nazaire, France, she measures about 215,900 gross tons and is 333 metres long with an unusually wide 47-metre beam. She carries passengers in 2,626 staterooms across 22 decks, with a maximum capacity of roughly 6,760 guests and a crew of about 2,100.
World Europa was the first MSC ship powered by liquefied natural gas, and she also carries a demonstrator solid-oxide fuel cell, shore-power connectivity and advanced wastewater treatment. Her profile is distinctive: a near-vertical bow, a broad hull that maximises interior volume, and an open stern where the superstructure is cut away in descending terraces rather than closed off.
That stern opening forms the World Promenade, the ship's signature space, an outdoor boulevard of bars and lounges overlooked by cascading balconies. It is threaded by the Venom Drop @ The Spiral, an eleven-deck dry slide billed as the longest at sea. Inside, the ship is arranged in themed districts holding a large theatre, an extensive food hall, specialty restaurants, a full-width spa, family and teen zones, and a two-level MSC Yacht Club occupying the forward upper decks as a ship within a ship.
Before entering commercial service the vessel was chartered as floating accommodation in Doha during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and she was formally named there in November 2022. The christening continued MSC's long association with Sophia Loren, godmother to most of the fleet.
Since that debut season in the Arabian Gulf, World Europa has settled into year-round Mediterranean service, sailing week-long western Mediterranean loops from ports including Barcelona, Marseille and Genoa. She was joined in the class by MSC World America in 2025, with further World-class ships on order.
