Cabin 17010 is a Grand Suite on Star of the Seas. There is a double sofa bed.

Cabin 17010 is a Grand Suite on Deck 17 of Star of the Seas. You are far forward. You are at the top of the passenger decks, so the pools and the open air are just up the stairs, and you feel the ship move more than anyone below you. Out at this end you feel the sea. In rough water the movement here is noticeably stronger. Right up in the bow, a head sea can send a shudder through the hull that midship guests never feel at all. We score it 5 out of 10 for steadiness.

You are right beside Coastal Kitchen, some 2 cabins along the corridor. Handy, though worth knowing about if you sleep lightly. The suite guests restaurant, forward on decks 16 and 17. Table service breakfast, lunch and dinner, included for Sky Class and above. Worth knowing: access is by cabin category, not by booking. Deck 16 is the main level and deck 17 the quieter upper one. Quiet comes out at 6 out of 10, roughly par for this ship. For getting about, 5 out of 10.

Counting from the bow, it is the 7th cabin position of 17 along Deck 17. You are about as central as the corridor gets, so it is a similar walk whichever way you turn out of your door. Deck 17 also has Lime and Coconut, Coastal Kitchen, Cloud 17 Pool and Sports Court on it. There are 22 cabins along this deck, so the corridor is short and rarely busy.

It is booked as a Grand Suite. At suite level you are buying more than square feet. Suites almost always carry priority boarding and priority disembarkation, and the higher grades on most lines add a restaurant, a lounge or a sun deck of their own. Junior and entry level suites often get none of that, so it is worth checking what this particular grade includes rather than assuming the whole list comes with the word.

Grade changes what you earn here, which is easy to miss. Crown and Anchor pays one cruise point a night in a standard room and two a night in a suite, so a seven night sailing out of this cabin banks fourteen points rather than seven. Sail it on your own on a double occupancy fare and it is three a night, twenty one for the week. Checked against the line's own published terms on 8 September 2026.

It is a poor fit for anyone who wakes when a door closes.
