Cabin G38 · Carnival Elation

Cabin G38 is an Interior (category 4I1) on Carnival Elation, 149 to 185 square feet.

Cabin G38 is an Interior on Deck 14, the Grand deck, of Carnival Elation, and it sits midship. You are at the top of the passenger decks, so the pools and the open air are just up the stairs, and you feel the ship move more than anyone below you. You are near the middle of the hull, where the ship does the least moving. In rough water that matters more than most people expect. We score it 9 out of 10 for steadiness, which puts it among the calmest rooms on the ship.

On the ship's plan the lift bank is two decks down, about 2 cabins along from you. You will still walk to the stairs or the lift to reach it, so treat it as a landmark rather than a neighbour. We give it 10 out of 10 for quiet, which is about as peaceful as this ship gets. For getting about it is 4 out of 10, so add a few minutes to everywhere you go.

Counting from the bow, it is the 22nd cabin position of 27 along Deck 14.

An Interior gives you 149-185 square feet. No window, which makes it the darkest and cheapest room on board and, for a lot of people, the best sleep they get all week. If waking to daylight matters to you, an ocean view is the smallest step up.

Against the rest of the ship it is as quiet as anything on board, steadier in a swell than 98 per cent of them and better placed for getting around than 82 per cent of them. It suits light sleepers and travellers prone to seasickness. It is a poor fit for anyone who finds long corridors and stairs hard work.
