Disney Adventure is the largest ship Disney Cruise Line has ever operated, and the design idea that defines it is that the vessel itself is the destination rather than transport to one. It began as Global Dream, ordered by Genting Hong Kong in 2016 for its Dream Cruises brand and built at MV Werften in Germany. When the yard collapsed into insolvency in January 2022, the hull sat roughly 75 percent complete. Disney bought it in November 2022, had Meyer Werft finish the work at Wismar, and took delivery in December 2025. The inaugural sailing left Marina Bay Cruise Centre in Singapore on 10 March 2026. At about 208,000 gross tons with roughly 2,100 staterooms, it is far larger than the Wish class, and published capacity figures range from about 6,000 to 6,700, so treat the figure as approximate.

The layout is organised into seven themed zones rather than the single atrium and promenade logic of the rest of the fleet. Marvel Landing carries Ironcycle Test Run, reported as Disney's first roller coaster at sea with more than 820 feet of track. Toy Story Place replaces the AquaDuck with Woody and Jessie's Wild Slides. San Fransokyo Street houses the tween and teen clubs, Town Square the Walt Disney Theatre, while the open air Disney Imagination Garden and Disney Discovery Reef act as social spines. Dining leans regional, with Mike and Sulley's Flavors of Asia alongside Animator's Palate and Palo Trattoria.

The published record is still short. Trade coverage is plentiful, but member reviews number in the low tens and are sharply divided, with praise for crew and food set against complaints about queues and app navigation. Cruise Industry News and Cruisehive both reported a May 2026 sailing cancelled after guests boarded, with refunds and future cruise credit issued. The Singapore pattern is unusual for Disney: three and four night round trips with no ports of call at all, entirely at sea. That suits a short break market flying in from across Asia, but it removes the shore excursion variety most Disney itineraries rely on.

The ship suits families with children of mixed ages, Marvel and Pixar enthusiasts, and regional travellers wanting a short, high density break. It suits far less anyone seeking ports, quiet decks, small ship intimacy, or a casino.

**What this means for choosing a cabin.** Cabins sit roughly on decks 9 through 18 in four families: inside, oceanview, verandah and concierge. No source publishes a firm balcony count, so treat any stated proportion with caution. The distinctive options are Garden View and Reef View balconies facing inward over the Imagination Garden and Discovery Reef, cheaper than ocean facing verandahs but overlooking active entertainment spaces, so noise and sightlines matter. Inside cabins run near 165 square feet and have been called cramped. Toy Story Place pools sit on deck 17 and the coaster above that, which argues against the highest cabins for light sleepers.
