Silver Endeavour

Silver Endeavour is Silversea's flagship polar expedition ship, a vessel with an unusually dramatic origin story. She was built in Germany, with work carried out at Lloyd Werft and the MV Werften group, and completed in 2021 as Crystal Endeavor, the ambitious expedition flagship of the now-defunct Crystal Cruises. When Crystal's parent company collapsed into insolvency in 2022, the nearly new ship was sold, and Silversea acquired her, renaming her Silver Endeavour and quickly deploying her as the crown jewel of its growing expedition fleet.

The ship was engineered for serious polar work. Ice-strengthened to Polar Class 6, she can push into the icy waters of Antarctica and the Arctic that lie beyond the reach of conventional cruise ships, and she carries advanced expedition equipment including a large fleet of Zodiacs and other exploration craft. She accommodates only about 200 guests but pairs them with an exceptionally high complement of crew and expedition staff, delivering both a luxurious experience and expert-led exploration in some of the planet's most remote regions.

Despite her rugged capability, Silver Endeavour retains the ultra-luxury all-suite character of the Silversea brand, with spacious, butler-serviced suites and refined public spaces that make her one of the most opulent expedition ships in the world. She was christened by Felicity Aston, the British polar explorer and scientist known for being the first woman to ski alone across Antarctica, a godmother whose credentials perfectly matched the ship's mission.

Registered in Nassau, Bahamas, Silver Endeavour sails ultra-luxury expedition voyages to Antarctica and the Arctic. She remains in active service as Silversea's polar flagship, a ship whose second life under a new name gave the line a world-class capability at the extreme ends of the earth.
