Silver Ray

Silver Ray is the second ship of Silversea's Nova class, known as the Evolution class, and a near-twin of the pioneering Silver Nova. Built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, and delivered in 2024, the vessel carried forward the class's clean-sheet design philosophy for the ultra-luxury operator and its parent Royal Caribbean Group. Like her sister, Silver Ray measures roughly 54,700 gross tons yet carries only about 728 guests, sustaining the brand's hallmark of a very high ratio of space and crew to guests aboard an all-suite ship.

The ship inherited the class's distinctive asymmetrical arrangement, in which pools, terraces, and public rooms are shifted off-center to maximize open ocean views and orient the guest experience toward the water. That styling sits atop the same forward-looking propulsion package: a hybrid system integrating liquefied natural gas, fuel cells, and batteries, which the line credited with cutting emissions by roughly 40 percent compared with earlier vessels and enabling near-silent, low-emission operation in sensitive port environments.

As an all-suite vessel, Silver Ray offers every guest a private living suite, most with a veranda, along with the butler service, multiple restaurants, and enrichment programming that define the modern Silversea product. The ship was named with Maria Josefina Olascoaga serving as godmother.

Registered in Nassau, Bahamas, Silver Ray entered service on premium worldwide itineraries. Homeported for periods at Barcelona, she has concentrated much of her early deployment in the Mediterranean and beyond, sailing the seasonal European luxury circuit while ranging farther afield. Silver Ray remains in active service, the second and newest member of Silversea's flagship Evolution-class pair and among the greenest ships in the ultra-luxury segment.
